Tallen32 Posted July 23, 2014 Report Posted July 23, 2014 Checked conpression today. Left cylinder 105 and right cylinder 100. 2002 stock with fmf fatties. Elevation is 1000 ft. When is time to replace? Quote
Banman1122 Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 I've never had a stock machine but a 5 psi diff is a sign of rings are worn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
trickedcarbine Posted July 24, 2014 Report Posted July 24, 2014 That's actually not too terrible. There are a lot of stock type bikes out there with similar compression. The 5 psi difference isn't that big of an issue, however it is definitely getting to be time for a rebuild. Remember, doing a rebuild before an explosion is always cheaper then after. Quote
Tallen32 Posted July 25, 2014 Author Report Posted July 25, 2014 Yeah I will be needing a top end soon. I did it a second time but with throttle open full this time. 100 psi on both. Quote
Tallen32 Posted July 25, 2014 Author Report Posted July 25, 2014 Also how much longer can I go. Starts first kick when cold. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted July 25, 2014 Report Posted July 25, 2014 Keep a good pre mix in it and it can make it the rest of the season if there's no real issues and the ring gorrves on the piston aren't Womped out. Quote
