I have some ITP polished aluminum wheels and was wondering what is the best way to make them shine. I have heard Mothers polish, but I have never used it. Does anyone have any input on this. Also do you have to have a buffer to really do it right?

Yup just rub the mother's on with a rag. The instructions say until it turns black, I've found you can actually go a little longer to save some time. But after the stuff is getting soaked up into the rag, grab a clean rag and buff it out. Keep repeating this process until you've got the shine that you want.

First off, are your wheels just dull or is there a seemingly ugly coating forming on the surface. If there is a coating forming the best start is to take WD-40 and 1500 grit sand paper, then again hit it with 2000 grit sand paper, and then finally hit it with the absolute best polish made--WENOL. This stuff is amazing! It also leaves behind a wax filler/coating that helps prevent oxidation in the future. But, better still, send me the wheels and I'll Chrome em'(for a small fee). Either way if you have and polishing questions feel free to contact me directly with any polishing or Chroming questions. -Randall AKA [email protected]

Use Mirror Brite. It says right on the bottle "approved by truckers" so you know it's the shit. It will get your wheels lookin like chrome.

(you guys are gonna think I'm crazy)

Try applying your mothers with your bare hands.. It's kinda messy but theres something about the oils in your skin that make it shine better than a rag..

Could be because the rag you were using was way too rough and was scratching the metal. Try using something softer.
