four2err0r Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 It has sat for a few days since this vid... it was the last time it started. I tried to start it the day after this video and nothing. Finally able to get back out and try again today, and till nothing 300 mains 30 pilots k&n pods, 4 inch air screw 1.5 turns clip at 3rd notch 1200 elevation Anywhere from 95-115F This is the jetting kit I used http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-Banshee-350-1987-2006-Carb-Kit-6-Jets-2-Needle-Gaskets-NEW-/400576305570?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d443559a2&vxp=mtr New to 2 strokes and carbs, but my cousin who helped explained the needles were aluminum vs the stock brass. We used them Also, there is a little bit of oil under the left carb, looks mostly around the clutch actuator. Is there a seal there that has gone bad? Or do I replace the actuator itself? Please help out! Quote
trickedcarbine Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Can't tell to much from the video, but when you rev it toward the end when you're stopped, it has that lean hang idle going on. You blip he throttle and it stays up a bit long. Looks like FMF pipes? What other motor mods besides the pipes and filters? The oil on the case could from the actuator seal being toast. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Ah, forgot the no start. Is there spark? Also check the compression. If the motor is on the fritz, it explains the weirdness in the video. Air leak maybe? Quote
four2err0r Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 Doesn't sound like it's firing at all Yeah they are FMF pipes. As far as I know these are the only mods. The reeds looked stock. But I haven't had it open at all That is my next step, compression and I'll be building the leak down tester on Saturday. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk Quote
four2err0r Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 When I bought the bike the ignition switch was broken. And I can't remember exactly... But im pretty sure it would start with the engine stop/run in either position. Since then I have put a new switch on. But I'm not sure if it can be related or how to check if it is working when I can't even get it started Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk Quote
Larry's Shee Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 That's what electrical testers and wire diagrams are for. IIRC, the kill switch goes to ground in off. Key completes circut when on. If key is removed make sure elimination splice is still good. Quote
