Are the cylinders worth saving

I got a banshee it has a older hot rod crank it has ben sitting for years the crank was oiled. but he forgot to do the cylinders and they are rusty but it is also bored to a 66.00. I think I could hone it and be okay. But if it wasn't would it be worth boring it? How much life is left with that big of a bore ?

66.25 is the max. You can have them sleeved

Mine is a Blaster piston. (It's a 370 Long Rod motor)

Depends on how much pitting and how deep...If they are not ported i would look for replacements or have those sleeved and ported....

Find another set and start over or get those set up and hope for the best. Don't bother with sleeving though. There are way to many options.

Thanks for all the replies I think I will see if honing it if not may go ahead bore it for 66.25 or 66.50 if that doesn't work will be looking for cylinders. Thanks again

That's a good idea if you just want a fresh top end. Not really worth spending the money to port cylinders at the end of their bores

Cylinder pressure higher then what the sleeve can handle, distortion, poor heat transfer...
