joe schmo Posted May 3, 2014 Author Report Posted May 3, 2014 up date... I did a leak down test 6psi for 10min then I let the air out......Now what can it be thanks. Quote
joe schmo Posted May 3, 2014 Author Report Posted May 3, 2014 (edited) I put another set of stock carbs on it with stock and same jetts, same thing.. Edited May 3, 2014 by joe schmo Quote
blowit Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 Considering business cards could be any thickness, why not do it like a white boy and use a feeler gage? .018 LOL Quote
joe schmo Posted May 3, 2014 Author Report Posted May 3, 2014 I used .018 feeler gauge on the side with the line, the other one has a little more of a gap.. Quote
joe schmo Posted May 9, 2014 Author Report Posted May 9, 2014 Like I said I'm new to the site and banshees...can anyone think about something to do? I did every thing I can think(first post has the most things I tried),good leak down test...I'm totally lost!! Quote
Larry's Shee Posted May 10, 2014 Report Posted May 10, 2014 Either set the gap to the shortest nub, or if other gets to close split the difference Quote
trickedcarbine Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 File the taller nub down so that it strikes evenly on both. Other concern, the compression you got off the gauge was 150psi on each? You didn't mention port work, but Is there head work on it? What type of fuel are you using? If the head is cut, you may be suffering a bit of deto..... Quote
clrkaw26 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Posted May 12, 2014 I was having a problem similar and forgot to reinstall the choke tube. Quote
joe schmo Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 Good Idea,I will file it down thanks. 150psi each from what I think is Stock pistons-bore,no porting, stock head and 32.1 premium fuel. thanks. Quote
joe schmo Posted May 12, 2014 Author Report Posted May 12, 2014 (edited) Now I ordered new 100 watt stator with timing plate also a UNIVERSAL EMPI CARBURETOR SYNCHRONIZER part # 43-5712-0... I might start a new thread to get some of your info how you guys use them... Edited May 12, 2014 by joe schmo Quote
joe schmo Posted May 16, 2014 Author Report Posted May 16, 2014 Up Date.......New stator and I used the sync tool,It got a little worse....... The reeds look good but I will try new ones also... What can I try now?? I'm about to do something dumb to it now out of frustration..Thanks. Quote
clrkaw26 Posted May 17, 2014 Report Posted May 17, 2014 Is the choke tube on? Its the tube that runs from the side of one carb to the side of the other, not the fuel line, the tube basically comes out on the opposite side of where the choke plunger is. Quote
joe schmo Posted May 17, 2014 Author Report Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) yes on both sets of carbs I tried..I ordered new reeds..After this i'm done, I have no clue what to do next!!! Edited May 17, 2014 by joe schmo Quote
Deadbeat Posted May 18, 2014 Report Posted May 18, 2014 150 psi sounds pretty high for a stock freshen up, pull the head Quote
joe schmo Posted May 24, 2014 Author Report Posted May 24, 2014 Now I put new reeds in, a little better but still not rite..What else can it be? This is the last time I'm going to ask and I will just give up..What I did so far is the first post+,Good leak down test, new stator with the pulse pickup set at .018,new reeds and carbs synced with tool. thanks.
