TwistedMethods Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 I just rebuilt a banshee i just bought in boxes i got a wiseco crank .30 jugs bored with wiseco pistons suppost to be 355cc now quad came with motofast 2 into 1 intake an so lectron powerjet carb never heard of it says on it patten pending anyone heard of this carb ? Also has a clear plastic bowl quad also cane with a 2 into 1 header with a fmf silencer i wanted duals so i traded for stock headers an fmf silencers also has a adjustable timing plate i just wanted to know if those mods justified a cool head an if so what size domes an if i should advance the timing or not thanks Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 I would for sure do a +4 on timing. Cool head is up to you. Not much to gain if you wanna stay on pump. Probably a 22 or 21cc dome would be safe depending on where you live. Both would help your bottom end. Quote
TwistedMethods Posted March 30, 2014 Author Report Posted March 30, 2014 I live in london ontario canada an ride mostly trails Quote
Pasi S. Posted March 30, 2014 Report Posted March 30, 2014 May I ask what size is that Lectron, and what kind of metering rod you have? Quote
TwistedMethods Posted March 31, 2014 Author Report Posted March 31, 2014 Im not sure the size of the carb how do i find out ? An not sure what a metering rod is Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 Measure the opeining of the carb body. The mm size is the carb size. Metering rod is the metal rod you can see in the carb body. Should have a size imprinted on it. Quote
m671054 Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 Lectrons have sizes cast into the body on both halves. they usually dont measure out exactly the same. Quote
TwistedMethods Posted March 31, 2014 Author Report Posted March 31, 2014 Theres a little silver bar on the inside that says lectron # 5 an on th body of the carb on either half theres a 40 inside a circle Quote
Finch Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 so its a 40 mm carb the metering rod is the needle on the slide pull it out and should have some digits stamped in it. if ya want more power stock pipes werent the way to go. Quote

RadarRacing Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 No need to measure or check carb. It is a 40mm lectron. Good carbs , they do however adjust differently and or "jet" differently than a mikuni or keihin. 40mm would be plenty of carb for it. Quote
TwistedMethods Posted March 31, 2014 Author Report Posted March 31, 2014 Ok great , ive never bought anything online or hade anything shipped before no idea what ide be doing Quote
Pasi S. Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 I asked the metering rod and size, because my friend has a 350 with T5´s and a single 40mm Lectron. He has 2-6 rod and it is rich down low and lean top. He can tweak it with a rod and powerjet, but it´s not perfect. Quote
TwistedMethods Posted March 31, 2014 Author Report Posted March 31, 2014 Hmm maybe l shouldent have traded my 2 into 1 exhaust system Quote
