oregonfear Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 Just getting into this sport! Mostly dunes but there will be some trail riding. I'm really wanting to pick one up this weekend, thoughts? http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=28741254&cat=145&lpid=&search=Banshee&ad_cid=8 http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=28713819&cat=145&lpid=1&search=Banshee&ad_cid=2 These are the two finalists. locogato11283 Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 The red/gray one looks pretty nice. Steer clear of that blue one with the YFZ front end! I bet he is selling it because it rides like shit now and he wants away from it. Welcome to BansheeHQ! Quote
Man-O-Steele Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 If i had to pick from those two i would go with bike number 1. However that bike might be a little much to handle if your just starting out. Im not trying to insult you im just sayin with a +6 swingarm wont handle as good as others and with 17cc domes that probably means race gas. just things to consider. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 See if the blue bike guy has the stock front suspension, he can keep the YFZ crap and drop the price. Quote
oregonfear Posted February 18, 2014 Author Report Posted February 18, 2014 Well damn! Guess I should keep looking then, haha. How hard would it be to go back from the YZF front end? Though I'm new to this, I'm an old fart and know my way around a wrench or two. Quote
camatv Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 if the red grey is a legitimate buy thats a good buy. id ditch the twist throttle before you even ride it. then if wanted drop cc size or just run race fuel in it. looks like a great starter package for the price. nearly too good to be true really.. oregonfear Posted February 18, 2014 Author Report Posted February 18, 2014 Actually, I'm in Utah these days. I lived in Bend about ten or so years ago. Quote
03DMshee Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 431 mm domes will definitely need race gas.... 1 Quote
oregonfear Posted February 18, 2014 Author Report Posted February 18, 2014 I'm kind of leaning towards the blue one. I can run it of a bit and change out the front end down the road. The red one I think will be a bit much for me right now. For now I'm really looking for a dune cruiser more than anything then I can modify more when I decide what I'm really looking for in my bike. The Yfz arms have to be modified, (upper or lower maybe both, don't remember) so they won't go back on a Yfz. Odds are someone on craigslist would love to have them on a Banshee just like this seller once did. Quote

BANSHEE CHAOS Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 IF ya go with the red one, I have a stock swingarm. Might do some trading for the twist throttle. :-) Quote
monster Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 This one looks good http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=28342716&cat=145&lpid=&search=Banshee&ad_cid=8 lots of good parts for the price. Quote
oregonfear Posted February 18, 2014 Author Report Posted February 18, 2014 I think I ahve decided to go with this one.... http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=28586517&cat=145&lpid=&search=banshee&ad_cid=10 I will just pick up some used paddles and go with it. This way it stays within the budget "given" to me and it wont scare the hell out of her if she rides it. Thanks to all that chimed in, I appreciated the help. Quote
