First post just joined the forum! Hi everyone, Ive heard a lot of good thing about this forum.

I just got my first banshee a couple month ago and just blew the right cylinder.

didn't tear up in the engine yet but did a compression test. 120psi on the left and 60psi on the right.

as of now the quad is pretty much stock. FMF SST and PowercoreII with K&N filter. I usually ride only trail with the occasional drag or top speed run with friends.

Im considering the blew up as an opportunity to get a bit more performance out of this.

I dont ride the quad often but can go for a day long drive once in a while.

what would you guys recommend as far as the rebuild goes? stock rebuild and call it a day? Big bore or stroker kit?

what else would I need to run right with a big bore or stroker kit? better head? aftermarket carb? etc...

I am really new to this 2stroke game! and would be ready to spend about 1500-2000$ on a performance build.

That is a pretty good budget for a motor build. Tell us a little more about what kind of riding you do and what your plans are with the bike then the question can be answered better? I know you said trails but are you riding in the woods or where are you riding at? Where are you located and how mechanical are you? Those answers would help a lot.

Will be riding really all kind of trail from large gravel road to smaller trail(2nd to 3rd gear kind of trail)mostly all in the wood! A bit of groomed snow trail in the winter. I live in atlantic canada and plan are basicaly just riding the same thing! I work away from home on a 20on 10off schedule so really dont ride often! When i do its either a short all out run or an allday long stop and go in the woods with a lot of breaks and mixed trail.

If this is a build you would like to take on yourself you can send the cylinders off to any site sponsors, have them ported, bored and honed. Purchase any parts you will need (pistons, gaskets, crankshafts, etc) have it all shipped to your door and go at it!.

We offer a nice 4 mil stock cylinder engine package. PM me if we can help you out with an engine build. Thanks.

I wouldnt mind building it my self but if the price is right for a complete engine thats something i would look into also!

I just picked up some cool head from a buddy of mine who didnt used them for cheap if i actualy need them.

Your budget puts you right on par with a killer 4 mil build. Tear it down, make a list of any of the misc OEM clips and washers and adjusters as order that stuff from fast. Fast can also set you up a nice 4mil crank for a great price as well. Send the jugs to get ported for your style of riding and have domes done as well. Your builder will guide you toward which pipes and stuff to get as they will tell what will work best with that particular portwork.

carbs are a waste of money. Whoever ports the motor will tell you if the cylds are out of spec and need a bore, or if they will simply just need new pistons. Id tear it all the way down regardless if you are going to put a crank in it or not. If you are going to stay stock stroke with your existing crank you will need to be sure it is trued/welded. If it is not, send it to the builder along with the cylds. IMO save your money on the carbs and have a promod tranny done.
