2004LEBanshee Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 I live in Ne Ohio and it gets cold. I was wondering if there is anything I should watch for or do to my banshee when riding in the cold? Quote
wesw Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 one thing to do is test your antifreeze with a tester. i sure it get below 0 in ohio. also you might check jetting usually up a size in the winter for more dense air. and if you got a temp gauge, i would make sure that it isnt really cold . my toomey rad is almost to much in the winter i have to block some it so it reachs op temps later Quote
raxen Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 I lived in West Virginia and Missouri for some time, bad winters. I found it a good investment to purchase on of those oil pan heaters for a S-10 truck from JC Whitney. Just plug it in a 15 minutes or so before you go ride and your ready to go. Quote
banshee2sick Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 I live in NE ohio too. where about do you live? Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted November 9, 2003 Author Report Posted November 9, 2003 South of Youngstown in Canfield. Quote
TREELIZARD Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 I LIVE IN MINERAL RIDGE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU CHECK YOUR JETTING Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted November 9, 2003 Author Report Posted November 9, 2003 How much do you typicaly change through seasons? Because I think that may have caused my bike to backfire today. but not sure, I'm a little new at this. Quote
lian Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 is it really hard to drive a banshee in snow or and should i keep it stored for winter Quote
banshee2sick Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 I adjust my needle 1 notch...this seems to be enough to keep it burning the same...its probably a little different per bike though. I just keep an eye on the plugs and adjust accordingly. I live in Warren, not too far from you. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted November 10, 2003 Author Report Posted November 10, 2003 I am sorry but what dirrection do you move the needle? Also you dont have to change jetts. Does yours ever back fire mines never done it till today does this mean its way off? It stopped when i rode it for a few min. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted November 10, 2003 Author Report Posted November 10, 2003 Also Banshee2sick how do you like those sst's for this area? I was looking at fatty's but am interested in sst's too. Quote
banshee2sick Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 I raise the needle by moving the e-clip one notch down...Im no carb pro though, check with banchetta he'll steer you in the right direction for sure. I get good power and response out of the SST's they're an excellent midrange pipe. Quote
Yamaha350T Posted December 2, 2003 Report Posted December 2, 2003 WATCH FOR STICKING THROTTLE!!!!! Believe me, your throttle will stick in the winter, you gotta be ready for it. Quote

wesw Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 most people go up on the mains a size or two. i would raise the needle unless it runs 1/2 to 3/4 Quote
