rjdgriff Posted November 28, 2013 Report Posted November 28, 2013 Your better off doing a .10 over bore/hone and getting a full new rebuild than just sticking new pistons and rings in it Quote
Blanky86 Posted December 2, 2013 Author Report Posted December 2, 2013 This weekend fired it up 2 kicks after sitting for several months it was running a little funky. looked at the airbox drain plug looked a little dirty pulled it off and about a quart of mixed fuel poured out everywhere. Now my question is this type of malfunction related to the fact that i need to rebuild the top end. I was being told that because the rings are worn that the fuel is bypassing and going into the intake? or that there could be an issue with the reeds? Needless to say it was quite the messy surprise. trickedcarbine Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Reeds. Regardless of top end issues or whatever, there shouldn't be anything coming out the intake side. Think of the reeds like a one way check valve. If anything is coming through them there is an issue. Quote
