thefallen1 Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 hi I have a 98 banshee runs like crap left cylinder misfires @ idle and shoots oil out the exhaust. only time it runs descent is during high revs. I checked compression and its a little low (100psi) in both cylinders. I have just put a twist throttle on and idle kit, I swapped plug wires and no change in miss. cleaned carbs and jets replaced plugs. does anyone have any ideas? Quote
Surfrjag Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 Rebuild topend unless you did comp test wrong. Hold throttle wide open and kick till needle stops Quote
mysterion Posted November 13, 2013 Report Posted November 13, 2013 Is the choke tube connected? Black tube that connects the carbs Quote
KaN Powersports Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Check spark quality as well.... Quote
Blown 331 Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Is the oil out the exhaust transmission fluid? Quote
sstaton1983 Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Is the oil out the exhaust transmission fluid? Miss is on left side not right. Check main jet maybe its loose in the bowl, that would cause your problem. And sound like the top end needs freshend up compression is low. Quote
Empire Industries Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 check the pilot jet . This is your idle circuit. The main jet doesn't come in to play until after 1/4 throttle. Also check the slides to make sure they are in correctly. The cut aways should be pointing toward the air filter side. Quote
