Anyone Know this Banshee?

Recommended Posts

I've got a guy that wants to trade me this Banshee for my Jr Dragster setup. He just picked it up in August and has next to no info on it. I was wondering if anyone on the HQ had seen it or has any info on it.

Its currently in the Sherman Tx area.

Any info is appreciated.

Well, appears to be a pretty decent cub set up. I would check the stroke, squish, compression, and ask for a leak down. Most of the parts for a strong cub set up are there and I would imagine that if it's in good running order it is worth snatching up.

That fuel system looks weak though. It appears to be running on just the stock petcock with the T fitting to the carbs. Whether it's gas or alky, it will definitely want more then that.

A body of mine worked on it but he doesn't know hardly anything about it aside that it's alky the guy who owned it then bought from a police auction and doesn't know shit about it either

Thanks for the information.. The current owner traded for it and knows nothing about it. Says he rode it once. He's an older guy and it sounds like it scared him pretty good.

I think the current owner may be in over his head. Sounds like he's pretty intimidated by it.Checking stroke, leak down, comp etc will have to be done by me before the swap.

ya, I saw the stock petcock. Its been 10-15 since my last alcohol banshee. We ran pingel(sp) petcocks then. There may be something better today, buts that's what we had back in the day...

" Back in the day" Just curious how old are you Travis?

Nice looking bike. Can we see what you're offering up.

Troy

Lets just say, I'm old enough to remember back in the day!!! :)

its a 98 Spitzer Aero with all updates, Briggs Raptor, Polar Clutch etc. Currently a 12.90 car that will run low 10's with a small driver and no weight added. Comes ready to race, just add a driver. Also comes with a 48v EZGO golf cart.

^^^ Have to agree. Banshee owner needs to throw a few duckies your way.

Nice damn dragster you have there. Safe to assume one of your kids pilot that toy?

BTW I was just curious about your age because I'm one of the few old fucks around here (48)

nice looking dragster but horribly slooow, those things are boring even for kids i think, is the young guy allowed to ride shotgun on a few runs in the camaro? haha

he has ridden in the Camaro and loved it.  as far as the Jr, the 12.90 set up runs 46-47mph in the 1/8th. plenty fast for a beginner. the 10sec setup runs 60-61mph. we cant step up to the 7.90 class for a couple years. I've seen those run upwards of 90 depending on clutch and gearing. They have an outlaw 330 class. those cars are monsters......

Like anyone. he wants to go faster, but I don't think I've ever heard a kid at the track complain about being bored when they're racing. LOL
