Methfireroad Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 Just a quick question, when u guys/gals put the bikes away for winter do u drain the radiator. I'm using engine ice and not sure about freezing point. Anyone leave there engine ice in the bike. It can reach temps of -40 Quote
mhoksch Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 The best way to winterize your bike is to rejet and put the studded tires on Sent from my XT901 using Tapatalk now Free 1 Quote
trickedcarbine Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 ^ yeah! What he said. On a serious note. Don't bother the coolant unless you expect 40 below. I would consider some detailing and lubing of every moving part, drain the fuel from the carbs and tank. Dielectric grease on the connectors, some lube down the plug holes and get it in the air off the tires. Quote
Methfireroad Posted October 19, 2013 Author Report Posted October 19, 2013 Hahahahaha ok, we'll where would I get a good deal on studs if I where going to do that. Quote
mhoksch Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 I don't remember where I got mine, but I think it was only around $60 for 1000 kold kutters Sent from my XT901 using Tapatalk now Free Quote
trickedcarbine Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 If that is the route you go, 1" or more for rear tires and 5/8"+ for the fronts or you are gonna spit them. Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 I would turn the gas off and put it in the corner. Quote
dave5.0 Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 Nobody puts Methhead in the corner!! Quote
Starwriter Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 It can reach temps of -40 I would move to someplace warmer, but not to someplace where you can be killed by failing hail or crawly things while you sleep. Quote
Methfireroad Posted October 20, 2013 Author Report Posted October 20, 2013 This state is the best. Been all over and really couldn't see my self anywhere else.. What's really messed up, about 4 years ago special blend and I where snowmobileing in NW WIS the temp was around -20 below and we stopped to take a Lil break, there was a spider running across the snow.
