cdi box doesnt match year of my banshee?

ii am lookin intop gettin a replacement for my cdi box. preferably a oem yamaha one  but i noticed my box thats on my banshee is from a 97 and they swapped the one plugg to fit the 96 wiring harness becuz the vin says its a 96 "T"  wen it was running it ran fine  so idk if i should get a 97 box and swap the plug or get a 96 box  im confused and need some advice becuz i need the bike goin for next sunday  plz help!!

you can use either just gotta do some easy rewire to use wrong year... do a search it's in here some where, but it's simple there is only 2 styles

Yes but the 97-06 style has 1 more wire than the 2 earlier styles- the green/yellow for the Park Brake Rev Limiter. Granted, that wire should not be hooked up or grounded but it is there and needs to be properly dealt with.
