Holyman Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 Hit it harder. Leave the nut on and really wail on it. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted October 23, 2003 Report Posted October 23, 2003 like he said beat the shit out of it and try to spray a ton of wd40 on it let it sit a while then whale on it again. Quote
cb67rs1 Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 use PB blaster it works much better, or just cut the bolts head off and the other end and pry them out if you are gettig new ones, they are probbably rusted to the medal sleeve inside the bushings Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 andif i were u i would try hittin on em before i cut em! i just had to buy some and they were 15 bucks apiece at the stealership Quote
2001SSTBanshee Posted October 29, 2003 Report Posted October 29, 2003 I had to cut the heads of both bolts and unmount the front of my pipes. Then I had more room to get a good hit on the bolts from the front and my pipes were out of the way in the back. Quote
2001SSTBanshee Posted October 31, 2003 Report Posted October 31, 2003 The bolts will spin freely, they just wont come out without force if they're rusted bad enough. Quote
Yamaha350T Posted November 1, 2003 Report Posted November 1, 2003 Try the PB blaster, it works awesome. Quote
bluescreamer02 Posted November 3, 2003 Author Report Posted November 3, 2003 ok i have them soaked right now ill try tomarrow Quote
Blue Duece Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 a large set of vise grips or channel locks will sqeeze that bitch loose with out trashing it, but if it's already wasted just beat the shit out of it, it will come off Quote
evil Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 if at first you dont succeed, get a bigger hammer Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted November 3, 2003 Report Posted November 3, 2003 if at first you dont succeed, get a bigger hammer At my shop we have a few different grades of hammers. We have the 4 oz ballast, a 48 oz ballast, a small ball peen, and a large ball peen, then we have the Ford wrench (a 8+lb home made copper hammer) and then we have the Harley wrench (a 15lb home made brass hammer) Usually I end up using the Harley wrench on stuff thats seized or rusted up.
