TIM LUTZ Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 Rebuilding my clutch basket and found that paper gasket/shim between gear and basket is shot. Where can I get one or what would be a good .020" sheet material to make one out of? I have a CAD/CAM router and have the part digitized and ready to go. I was thinking just a piece of 2024-T3 aluminum. Any thoughts? Quote
trickedcarbine Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 Thought...... Billit baskets are nice. Quote
TIM LUTZ Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Posted March 4, 2013 Don't you ues the shim/gasket with a billet basket also? Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 4, 2013 Report Posted March 4, 2013 None of mine use a paper gasket. Quote
TIM LUTZ Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Posted March 4, 2013 OK, I am way over budget getting bike ready for 1st hare scramble this coming weekend. Billet basket is out of the question .That said, does anyone have an extra shim or know where to get one. This part is required when replacing the cushions on a stock basket. Quote

I've never used one of those. I think that's like the rubber bands in the clutch Quote
TIM LUTZ Posted March 4, 2013 Author Report Posted March 4, 2013 Think I'll just remove the .020" from the plate mating surface of the basket. Quote
