general_lee_banshee Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Its around 1 degree celsius outside and i just replaced my cdi and stator . Very nice sparks , jetted fat for cold weather. She runs idle on 1 cylinder. My right side pipe stays cold . When i give it gas it dies and sounds kinda like a rev limiter haha . Could it be a frozen carb? Quote
JAGeSage Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Water in carbs is possible. Give a shot of ether in the right carb see if it picks it up. if it does its most likely the carb issue 1 Quote
general_lee_banshee Posted February 23, 2013 Author Report Posted February 23, 2013 I just took of the carbs ill inspect them shortly Quote
general_lee_banshee Posted February 23, 2013 Author Report Posted February 23, 2013 Just cleaned the carb i had a pilot clogged up taught it was my problem but no. Im thinkinbthe stator is no good Quote
sleeper06 Posted February 23, 2013 Report Posted February 23, 2013 Electrical,t.o.r.s issue ,or you swapped carb bowls they are side specific and will screw you up.parking break switch.these stator s are pretty tuff very rarely are they the issue it always are issues resembling stator good luck let me know Quote
general_lee_banshee Posted February 23, 2013 Author Report Posted February 23, 2013 Man the bike was running like a top before. the tors is remooved and no parking brake switch either im confused Quote
notsed Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 choke tube between carbs? maybe the slides are in the wrong way Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted February 24, 2013 Report Posted February 24, 2013 Check the gap between the flywheel, and the pickup coil. It should be .020". Having too wide of a gap can cause one side to not fire. Quote
Pastrykiller Posted February 26, 2013 Report Posted February 26, 2013 Try this. Disconnect the actual cable from the slides. Insert the slides back into the carb with the springs and carb caps. This will keep the downward tension on the slides and allow it to idle without an upwards pull on the slides. This will eliminate any throttle cable problem. I just spent 2 weeks tracking down a so called electrical issue when it was a faulty cable. Quote
