Z400Banshee Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 I ride a lot of trails so I'm getting +2+1 lonestar A-arms with stage 3 elka suspension. I'm going to be getting new wheels for it but I dont know what wheel offset I should go with. Whats the advantages and disadvantages of 4+1? Same thing on the 3+2 advantage and disadvantages. Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 You want the 3/2 wheels. Quote
rubberneck Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 4/1 wheels move the centerline of the wheel further in(narrow the bike) The advantage is less steering feedback as it puts the center of the tire closer to the turning point of the spindle. If i were looking to do 4/1 i would order +3 A-arms. A good stabilizer will make a huge difference on feedback with the 3/2 so since you already ordered the +2 arms i would probably stick with the 3/2 wheels Quote
Z400Banshee Posted February 21, 2013 Author Report Posted February 21, 2013 I didn't get the arms yet so im still up for suggestions on them. If I did the +3 arms with 4/1 offset would they be about the same width as runnig +2 arms with the 3/2 offset? Quote
special06shee Posted February 21, 2013 Report Posted February 21, 2013 3-2 off set is more based for average riding conditions. It will handle well and will provide width for stability as far as side to side. 4-1 off set is more geared for high speed aggressive riding/racing. It will create the least about of bump steer at high speeds. Quote
