KINGpimp Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Was curious of everyones opinions on pistons...brands, types. I will be building a stock bike just bigger pistons. And if anyone knows of any sponsors running specials on kits? Looks like im gonna have to go .50 over on my build. Any suggestions? Quote
Nightmare Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Most will say wiseco. Why .50 over? Sent from my SGH-T679 using Tapatalk 2 Quote
KINGpimp Posted February 9, 2013 Author Report Posted February 9, 2013 Pretty sure that was the sizey engine guy told me.. Quote
hoppedupandcutdown Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Double check with your builder, big difference between .50mm and .050". The first one is half of a millimeter(or right at twenty thousandths of a inch), the second is fifty thousandths of an inch. Quote
KINGpimp Posted February 9, 2013 Author Report Posted February 9, 2013 Yea Im gonna wait til monday and throw a mic on it. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted February 9, 2013 Report Posted February 9, 2013 Wiesco is what i run in my bike. Wiesco is going to be the most common answer your gonna get. A few guys also recommend WSM. Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 If your just doing a re-build, you could go with the Vito's Super Stock pistons. They have a lowered edge on the exhaust side that simulates mild porting. (Acts like the exhaust port was raised) They will gain you 7HP. (You can call Vito's about jetting recommendations to re-jet for the added power.) Quote
sheerider1026 Posted February 11, 2013 Report Posted February 11, 2013 I would never run a cast piston.. The problem is they shatter when they fail.. Sending buckshot all through the motor.. I have yet to see a forged piston shatter. Wiseco pro lite ftw! Quote
