turbowrenchhead Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 I have a 2-1 intake on it for now and I grabbed my blasters 35 pwk with 60 pilot and and put in a 180 main. I have the stock carbs but I have to do the tors elimator, rebuild and rejet them. I will try both setups and keep the one I like. I don't know if the 2-1 is the cause of concern number one. When I revved it up a to say 3000-4000 rpm after I let off the throttle the rpms still raced up to the point that I had to hit the kill switch. I don't have anything on the filter end of the carb, straight to atmosphere. Restart it and its fine as long as I dont rev it to high it will idle back down. Any ideas what is causing this? I have a coolant leak coming from one of the head nuts on the noss head. I would think a dab of silicone will cure that. My kick has a weak return spring. Ordered a newer model one. Quote
Sandking Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 Do a leak down test and get a 42 pilot Quote
turbowrenchhead Posted January 19, 2013 Author Report Posted January 19, 2013 I have to get another rubber stopper before I can do a leak down. I have a leakdown test setup for blaster but only one exhaust plug. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 sounds almost like you may be running slightly lean. definitely do the leak down first. then i'd try and fatten up the jets just to ensure its not going to melt down. then plug chop. then final dial in. Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 If you keep the 2into1 intake, get an E series needle. EEJ or something close to that. The lean hang / rev is a fuel starvation issue or air leak. The coolant leak can be fixed with a copper washer and some acorn nuts. Jared Quote

I think I have an E series needle too. Should I leave the 60 pilot alone and go bigger on the main? Quote
skywalker7374 Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 check your seals around the intake, then do a leak down. Quote
turbowrenchhead Posted January 19, 2013 Author Report Posted January 19, 2013 I have a gasket on both sides. I would hope I got a good seal. I will do a leak down though. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 Agreed with the E series needles. Mose success stories are with an EEK needle on those Quote
Starwriter Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 Stock front bumper rubber caps work great for capping the exhaust to do a leakdown test. Perfect size. Throw a hose clamp on it and you're set. Quote

BeeCanBanshee Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 I used to have a 2-1 carb. I ran dek neddle, 47 pilot and 190 main ran great. Quote

BeeCanBanshee Posted January 20, 2013 Report Posted January 20, 2013 33m pwk I think they the jetting would be close even if you have a 35. Quote
