band1t Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Hey all, I bought some +2 A Arms from RPM industries. I will start out with the good about these A Arms, The guy gave me a deal of $300 +free shipping was $335 now the bad, The kit did not come with new bushings, like he said The ball joints didn't fit, had to make the hole a little bigger The shocks didnt fit, had the beat them into place So affordable YES. But took work making them fit. Quote
ClayAiken Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Thats what u get for 300$ arms. Quote
fappy'97 Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 You drilled out the holes on the spindle knuckle? With a straight drill bit? Hmm.... Quote

ATVridinMaNiAc Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1423.l2649 These? something does not sound right if it took all that to get installed, i have heard of a few people using these and they said they were pretty decent. I was looking into getting a set. Quote

I was looking into getting a set. yep that's what I bought so far they have not been a bolt in and go kinda job. more like a tweak this and pound that kinda job and I and I currently using the stock shocks because I cant afford longer ones at the moment the guy told me stock shocks will work fine. ATVridinMaNiAc Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 Well other then having to manipulate them on do you like them? Quote
locogato11283 Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 reeming the spindles is known with most aftermarket a-arms. and i bet you are running the wrong shocks. I have owned Quicksand, Stellar and Laeger a-arms and have never had to ream anything. Quote
fappy'97 Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 They should be tapered. Just drilling them out with a general bit isn't a good idea... Quote
GleasmJA Posted October 23, 2012 Report Posted October 23, 2012 According to that post.... NO REAMING REQUIRED. HA HA. I also like at the bottom how it says... "If they break we'll replace them", will they replace all the rest of the parts that get ruined when they fail?? Like they say... you get what you paid for. Quote
band1t Posted October 24, 2012 Author Report Posted October 24, 2012 (edited) Well other then having to manipulate them on do you like them? if your doing a build on a budget and don't mind having to do a little work Sure they are great for the money Edited October 24, 2012 by band1t Quote
ATVridinMaNiAc Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Thats fucked up it actually says no reaming required and you had too...i would be calling the owner and see if he could shed some light on that, i doubt its possible you got sent the wrong ones but you never know. Quote
bansheekx Posted October 24, 2012 Report Posted October 24, 2012 Quicksand, LSR and Roll Design here. Havent had to ream either, is it cheap quality arms, or do quality arms need the same thing? Alot of the lower price a arms use moog tie rod ends from a mazda truck for the ball joints that have the wrong taper for a yamaha spindle. Quote
camatv Posted October 25, 2012 Report Posted October 25, 2012 whats bad is the newer ball joints with the correct spindle stud cost the same if not less than the mazda truck tie rods.... hmmmm i'd also say maybe you got the wrong ball joints or something.. who knows. Quote
87sheerips Posted October 26, 2012 Report Posted October 26, 2012 Dont some ball joints come with a straight shaft instead of tapered? I had to ream my spindles for my stellar tie rod ends to fit... It was no big deal. Quote
