shelrad1 Posted October 15, 2012 Report Posted October 15, 2012 A friend of mine just got a banshee and it is giving him problems starting. It has LRD pipes and a 2 - 1 carb set up. It will start right up when cold. when engine is warm it cant be started by kicking it. It will start if we push start it tho. It runs just fine other thatn the starting issue. Any suggestions ? thanks Quote
shelrad1 Posted October 15, 2012 Author Report Posted October 15, 2012 Exactly what I thought also. The pilot was totally clogged. Before we fixed it you couldnt even kick start it when cold, only push start. After we cleaned the carb up and un clogged the pilot it would kick start if the engine is cold but not if you just shut it off then try to start it again. I told him we prolly need to check compression, but I dindt have my guage with me. Quote
1995 350 Banshee Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 We Checked the compression both cylinders read 125 i that to low? Quote
Jereme6655 Posted October 21, 2012 Report Posted October 21, 2012 Nope.....125 is good compression. Quote
shelrad1 Posted October 21, 2012 Author Report Posted October 21, 2012 (edited) So, we cleaned jets out and compression is good. What should we be looking at next ? I was thinking something having to to with spark. Like sparkplug boots or something like that. Edited October 21, 2012 by shelrad1 Quote
