Does anyone know if it is recommended to apply a product such as Yamabond or ThreeBond flexible liquid gasket to carburetor boots to help prevent air leaks? I remember reading this somewhere online, but cannot find it again to verify. Is this a good idea to prevent air leaks from the carburetor boots? Thanks!!

i have put some threebond on (2) of my intakes between the boots and intake to seal up leaks.

dont see why it would be a problem. :shrugani:

now, i can see where using a sealant that is not impervious to gasoline would be a problem.

Thanks guys for the FAST replies!

Do you guys also put a layer of it around the inside of the carb boot before slipping it over the carbs? Thanks again.

I have never seen a need to do that.

I'm going to be re-assembling my motor soon , I have done the same on my blaster using the high temp copper rtv for the intake components , as said I didn't see a need to put any on the boot itself for the carb . Is it ok to put a thin film of it on the base gaskets on a shee? And how about the head gasket? Is there a best choice head gasket to use ? My blaster used a copper head gasket , What would be my best bet option to seal the head and avoid coolant leaks ?

I tried 1211&1194 (three bond) on my intakes and it worked great..... The only problem was getting that crap off without destroying my vf3's, now I use ultra black on the intakes and it's not as messy and doesn't turn rock hard.....
