hello, so i bought a 98 banshee from my work, at my dealership for 750 bucks cause it didnt run worth the shit. It has kehin i believe 34 or 38 mill carbs, v force 3 reeds, platinum pro circuit pipes, and was just taking it apart because late last year when i got it every time i would have to ride it i would have to pull start it. (like pull it behind another wheeler and pop the clutch) So i have been reading alot on hear about how they run and what not, but am new to banshee's. now when it would run it would take a little bit for the left cyclinder to start up like a few hundred feet but once it was warmed up it was fine and stupid, stupid, fast, hence why i found and org and now love the machine. so my riding style is more or less going to be trail riding and thats in live in the twin cities in mn. just wondering what any of you thought would make it a good trail machine, and by the way the cyclinders say knapp racing on the sides of the jugs, but dont have the rest apart yet, because i am waiting to pressure test it but when i took the exhaust off it poured apprx. 1 quart of fuel out of each pipe. by the way i am new to banshee but am a master certified chrysler mechanic for the last 5 years, so not a dumbass so i would appreciate any and all help. thanks again

Mic the smaller filter side of the carbs. That'll tell ya size. First thing I'd do is the comp test. Mother to start cold, once warmed up u get a little expansion and it'll run. I've bought a pile or two like that.

Well you definitely have a fuel issue in the carbs as they could be filling and draining fuel into your pipes.... Also what is your compression at on the bike? Doing a leak down on the motor is definitely a good thing to help diagnose a hard start.

Compression and leakdown test to determin engine health. Completly disassemble and clean carbs, write down jet sizes, needle clip, and turns on air screw. If all checks out when you go try it , start with new plugs.

BTW, welcome to BHQ !!
