seabass Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 I've already replaced and rebuilt it. It's starting to rattle again, which bugs the crap out of me. Is there an aftermarket one that will fix this permanently or will those eventually come loose also? Thanks in advance for any info that you can provide. Quote
Infamous039 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 I think they eventually rattle again over time. You have to pack them with grease to keep them from wearing out quick. Quote
cav4ever Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 I doubled up the orings haven't had a problem since Quote
BigRed350x Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 Next time you have it apart put a small medium tension spring on top of the tower the kicker goes on, and double up your o-ring on the bottom of the tower. Grease it up good when you put it together. The spring on top keeps tension against the kicker and it won't rattle any more. A guy named "Holyman" here on HQ came up with the mod years ago. I have two of his kickers and they work great with no rattle. - Jared Quote
seabass Posted February 25, 2012 Author Report Posted February 25, 2012 Good tip, I'll try that. Thanks for the replies. Quote
Bkm2006 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 billet kicker, no more rattle .. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted February 25, 2012 Report Posted February 25, 2012 I put an o ring on top of the kick shaft AND I put a small one under the spring and ball in the kicker. Hasn't rattled since and now it doesn't flop open while riding.... It stays right where it's supposed to unless you move it Quote
Concrete Posted February 27, 2012 Report Posted February 27, 2012 Ever since I switched to a Modquad billet kicker, never heard the rattling again... Quote
