jtbhq420 Posted February 23, 2012 Report Posted February 23, 2012 I'm thinking the same thing I just wanna hear about them a little since I have till April before the price goes up. I was thinking maybe the ltr450 shocks may be pretty decent long travel shocks I know I saw someone use them for lt on ex rider.com on a 400ex Quote
CrazyBRONCOguy Posted March 3, 2012 Report Posted March 3, 2012 Got mine in the mail earlier this week. Look good, you can see how the standard travel link goes in, in the pic. I should be able to get them mounted up soon, I'll post more pics when I get to that point. Also the included tierods look beefy but I will not be using them. Quote
camatv Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 woa those are weird. the +1 forward and -1 swingarm solves the banshees balance in jumps. but thats old school moves the motor more to the centerline of the frames rotation. Quote

I want to see how they look/fit and hear how they feel. Quote
CrazyBRONCOguy Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 Only have had time to losely bolt up one side. those are standard travel Elka stage 1's. The arms on the left are fullflights. Notice the shock mount makes the fullflights appear to have more travel but I dont think they do, its just where the lower shock mount is. Also I checked the wheelbase and as fas as I can tell the Alba arms are plus 1 too as they measure the same from side to side and the fullflights are +2+1's Should be installing the other side tonight, hopefully I will get pics of the complete setup on the ground. Im waiting on a few other parts to take it on a ride. Quote
BAMF87 Posted March 5, 2012 Report Posted March 5, 2012 can you get some measurements to see the difference between the fullflights and the alba's? Quote
streetplatoon Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 can you get some measurements to see the difference between the fullflights and the alba's? Yeah, Yeah! pics!!! Quote
Burke Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 a few guys on the 450R forum have been getting them... seems to be some issues with the bushings but Alba is doing everything to make it right http://www.trx450r.org/forum/94-suspension-chassis-drivetrain/197445-thoughts-these-arms.html Quote
CrazyBRONCOguy Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 good to know on the bushings got them put on the rest of the way, I didn't take measurements between the two. Another thing I noticed is if you look at the fulllflight side and then look at the alba side the tie rods are at a goofy angle compared to the arms on the fullflights. On other stuff i have messed with this is bad, the Alba arms put the tie rods much closer to being parallel. Its noticably lower but I dont think that's a bad thing. I can measure the arms realitive to each other if you know what you want, I just get get the mounted dim's anymore. Also off topic, Im kinda diggin the no plastic at all look Quote
BAMF87 Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 its hard to see them with the bumper, but how do u think they compare to your full flights? Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 Damn, looks like you lost quite a bit of ride height; which on a Banshee, equates to a loss of wheel travel. We just had a pretty in-depth discussion about these arms in the Shoutbox. Thanks for posting the pictures. Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 So what exactly is it that these a-arms were supposed to do? Quote
CrazyBRONCOguy Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 (edited) they let you mount standard travel shocks and then switch to longtravel later with the same arm. Pics might be a little decieving, i think its not as much differance as it looks. Also I took the shock loose and with a set of long travel shocks the arms will go as far as the full flights are in the pics. Edited March 6, 2012 by CrazyBRONCOguy Quote

BAMF87 Posted March 6, 2012 Report Posted March 6, 2012 So ur saying these arms with lt shocks are about the same as the +2 fullflights with st shocks? I was going to order ace fab arms or fullflights, then decided on these albas now I don't know what to do lol Quote
