Well first off hello all this is my first post here as well as my first banshee, I have owned a lot of four wheelers in the past but this is my first 2 stroker, I came across a 2006 banshee that i thought was a good deal so i bought it, got it home last night went to ride it today and didnt get 1/4 mile on it and it started making noise from clutch cover kind of grinding so i turnded around to head home and the rear wheels locked up on it and it stalled. fired it back up but it would not move locked up tight in first, second gear, i did manage to limp it home starting out in third. I rode the quad yesterday before i bought it and there didnt seem to be a problem at all? Can anyonr please help here?

Idler gear maybe? But idk if that could cause it to lock up the rear end. Idk shit about the trannys. But I did have my idle gear come loose once and it sounds about like the sound your talking about

welcome to the HQ your going to have to at least take that cover off and see what the problem is... might even have to split the cases and replace some gears it sounds like. sux your having problems already but pics of the carnage please!

Either buy a Clymers manual or find the download manual around here and bust out the wrenches. Start by pulling clutch cover. These things are very simple really. If you know which end of a hammer to grab you're good to go. If you get stuck on something, just ask. :cheers:

BTW, Welcome to BHQ!! :clap::cheers:

larry is exactly right....these things are super easy to work on....it could be a broken gear or it could also be a bent shift fork....wont know til you check. either way the nice thing is that these things are super easy to work with...and cheap to work with.

I took the side covers off didn't see anything obvious, I have a buddy that's gonna burn me a copy of the manual before I go any further. I have never split the cases on one of these I've heard its not easy to reassemble after tearing down. Kinda nervous about it but I guess ill give it a shot. Im sure ill be back with more questions lol

the noise is coming from the trans. it is something in there binding it, havent dug any deeper yet still waiting on the manual before i start tearing it down. should be first of the week when i actually get to it.
