WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted January 23, 2012 Report Posted January 23, 2012 Deep pea gravel in areas at "The Badlands" is murder on your sprocket/chain when it sinks in while your in the throttle. One of our group showed up with some 18" mx tires and found that out the hard way. It took 10 min of rocking the bike and pushing little pebbles out of the chain with little sticks from nearby trees to get that bike rolling again. Thankfully he didn't have a skid plate or it would have been worse. The skid plate would have been an "Autofeeder" of pea gravel straight into the sprocket. I like the idea of a single sided sprocket guard. Great for protecting gear while making it easy to prevent getting hung up on tree stumps and things. The disk brake guard will prevent those nasty disk bending rock hits when running river beds. I'm sure JD will make something that looks as sweet as it works. Quote

The worst I ride in is dirt, a little mud, a few water puddles, and smaller rocks on the trails. I guess a single plate would be fine as more people could use that design and it would still serve the purpose to protect the chain/ sprocket. Plus it would keep the cost lower too making this item more attractive to more people. I guess we will see what JD comes up with for us....I'm sure we won't be disappointed. blubyyou Posted January 26, 2012 Author Report Posted January 26, 2012 JD received my ltr blingstat stuff Wednesday according to UPS tracking. He said it could be a couple weeks turnaround time. He hasn't contacted me back yet but he said he would after he looks it over and comes up with a plan. I'd say I will probably hear from him next week. I didn't want to call and aggravate him to death so I will just wait until he calls me. If I don't hear from him by the end of next week I will give him a call so I can keep everyone posted on the progress. Quote

But I got busy with other crap and didn't get to follow through with it. He makes some cool shit though. Stuff keeps getting better and better. I'm sure he can whip these out.
