Helmet Cam

Looking to buy a Helmet Cam before the BHQ ride in Oklahoma. I want to spend around 200$, just wondering if anyone has any good suggestions. Thank you.

I would get the new gopro I paid $245 for it and has a rechargesble battery!!! you can also get the 960 or I think 720 gopro they are alittle cheaper. they are durable and waterproof I would recommend it to anyone.

I am gonna get the go pro 960 hd for 179.99 it also has a rechargeable battery and from rockymountatv comes with a sd card for free, not gonna buy 15 of them though thanks for the information.

make sure you get a good sd card I have a 16gb one and it seems to be the right size for the battery meaning I get around 2 hrs of video

I have that one and it let me use a 4g, but the booklet says 2 max. I run out of batt before space. I just bring my lappy with me and unload it.

I think the Contour HD is a far superior helmet cam. It's easier to use by far. The GoPro will sometimes not record if you don't get the button pushed just right and there's no way to know unless you're looking at it. The Contour has a slide button that records. When you slide it forward, it beeps so you know it's recording. It takes tons of video and to charge you just plug into a USB port. I have both so I am talking from experience.

contour hd 1080p is what i have and love it, got a 16gb card now, you will fill a 2gb card in less then 30 mins on full hd

Here is a slow video around a local MX track from a couple months ago and I had the camera angled too high. I tried to get some fast laps a couple weeks ago with a lower angle but I didnt take off my glove to push the record button and it didnt record.

 

 

 

Exactly why I don't like the GoPro. You don't know if it's recording or not. I've missed some good stuff because of that. Never had an issue with my Contour.
