amont21987 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 I have just bought my banshee about 2 weeks ago and I have just bought the toomey t5 exhaust and I want to get a cool head but I have read a few posts about them on here I have seen that running certain octane gas and getting the wrong cc dome will cause the motor to blow so I wanted to know how can I figure out what's the right domes to buy and gas to run. I'm sure that the higher the octane the better but around here its only 90 pr 92 unless I wanna spend 9 dollars a gallon on the 110 octane but that is a little pricey and I may not be able to afford it everytime I want to go to haspin for the weekend. It depends on your elevation and porting. Most of the time you can run pump gas with 20cc or larger domes. 20, 21, 22, 23, etc. There are charts out there that will tell you a rough estimate of your static compression based on elevation alone. Anything below 150-155psi static compression and you can run pump gas. if you advance your timing, drop that number a little bit. Give Kevin at Herr Jugs racing a call, he can hook you up with the correct domes for your setup and elevation. Great guy to deal with. - Jared Quote
mjstone85 Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 I have 20cc domes with 170psi static compression running +2 timing advance, i run 91 oct and never have any problems at sea level. hope this helps. Quote
joetechford Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 i run 19cc domes with 110 octane at sea level with a dune port cubs and 4mil with 68cc pistons... no problems and nice perfect burning plugs but ya it is different all over the place and so many things play a role... so ya call herr jugs racing... and support the supporting members Quote
