TheBigShabowski Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I mentioned before that i am trying to rescue a banshee. I have ben dissasembling it piece by piece. started on the motor yesterday. took head and jugs off. i noticed the pistons have arrows on them and they were facing oppisite ways. clymers said they were supposed to face the exhaust. I looked closer at the backwards piston and it has a chunk missing above the top ring. also seen the ring had a 1 inch gap. looked at the jug and there is a gouge. What i need is someone who can look at the jugs to see if its machineable. The engine has obviously been apart. Are the pistons in it stock bore or not? heres a pic can u tell by numbers on it? Thanx in advance. Quote
Phelps Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 wow someone was a bright one. idk how it even ran... just look up any of the sponsors here that are builders and they can fix you right up. Quote
Jereme6655 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 the 513 at the begining is the wiseco 513 series pro-lite pistons........good pistons if they're installed right. correct the arrows point towards the exhaust side. and its still on its stock bore of 64.00 mm Quote
jbooker82 Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I imagine the exhaust port caught a ring since the piston was installed backwards. Quote
