Im looking to build a dirt drag ban but I also would like to trail occasionally would a override hold up ?Is this possible. Im new to this. From what I hear ur not able to down shift with override unless u come to a complete stop if not you dont it bends the shift forks.

just do a stock mod trans..

the duneables you can down shift and up shift but backloading they will still eat shift forks.

My buddy trail rode a dunable hard for 2yrs... He sold it since then but it seemed to do great. There is no denying wear and tear on the shift forks tho

Thanks guys for the input.....I think I may go with the dunable trans. What does the term backloading mean?

When you let off the gas and don't pull in the clutch.

Man i just put a dunable 1-5 n down in mine about a month ago and all i can say is WOW!!! Ive always heard the hype about the override but was unsure until now. It dont even feel like the same bike. Doubt i ever go back to a stock tranny.

Yup, i dont see myself ever going back. I dont need 6th so a stock trans serves me no benefit. Plus im spoiled with my N down :)

Just to add, you need traction and stock shift star/spring. Also stuff like aftermarket shift kits(shift pro) and modded shift stars can hurt an overrides performance. Basically down/up shift when you dont want it to due to massive vibration when you hit bumps.

I just put a 2-5 in mine..... wow what a differance. I am concerend with bending shift forks so I am very careful in down until my speed is comparable to the gear Im going in.....
