back when i got my banshee it felt scary fast and now it just isnt as much of a rush, and sometimes i want more power. i was thinking of getting it ported. but then thought i would probly end up feeling the same about that too. so i was wondering if i got a 4mil crank and got maybe a trail port to match it would that be a good setup? and i know spacer plates arent the favoured option but are they really that bad, or will it be fine to use. also what kinda hp would i be seeing, and what size carbs would be good to use with that setup to focus on midrange power. and who are some of the favoured builders on here that do some good work? this isnt going to be happening anytime soon but ill be starting a good job in the summer and start making decent money without paying rent or anything so this can be reasonable. sorry for all the different questions just wanted to get some info so when i decide to do something like this i have the knowledge.

you only need to worry about clearence issues if you run 115 rods. the longer rod is better for reliability so most people use it,if you are having port work i would deff. run stroker domes or have the stock head cut to clearance the piston. depending on what pipes and intake, the 4 mill with good porting will be a big increase in hp. on carb setup im using stock with no problems. on engine builders look at sight sponsors,im using passion racing engines.

It doesn't matter what you build, It will eventually become boring. Horsepower is like crack, you always want more.

This is SO true.. I started with 250r and have been through the whole sceen now.. I have made lots of passes on a 20mil cougar (825cc) and yeah its alright.... But as stated there was a need for more.. So we are building something bigger and with a turbo/nitrous... You will out grow anything that you build, banshees are like pants. To answer your question if you are gonna have a 4 mil ported motor, just have your builder cut you a set of domes when they do the porting.. It wont be much more than the plate and you will have a far superior setup than you would with the plate...

Not sure what you are looking for, but I just tore down my motor. Had a bit of a cold sieze on in one cyliner. They are Passion 12port cylinders I am running a 4mill stroker long rod motor. I am not sure what direction I am going to want to go in from here, but leaning toward Servals. I have been out of the game for a long time, but since I have been snowed in here in MO. for awhile it lead to me digging out the Banshee and opening it up. the bore is currently 64.5. If I stay with this I would just do a new topend of course, not sure what the cylinders would be worth, but let me know if it is something your are interested in. Or anyone else for that matter.

P>S I meant to let you know that the cold sieze was not horrible it only stuck for a second. I actually started it up and rode it from my back building to the front garage. about 200 yards. I actually questioned if it was a cold sieze cause the reeds actually started coming apart at the tips. Possible they cause it to stick for a min.

bored on a 20 mill cougar WOW>.

the 4 mill 115 rod is the most popular using the spacer plate makes the transfer ports all wacko on port timing and honestly i dont know how they even run worth a shit. the proper way IS to use correct domes, and port the cyl's for the crank combo. in all reality porting for a 350cc and a 115 rod non spacer 4 mill will be actually very similar. they vary buy just a few degree's/ BUT in all reality its best to build the motor as a whole..

do you have a billet basket?

do you have a good clutch? what other parts might you need? ( head for the custom domes possibly iusing the stock head adn have it cut, not that good of a choice really), reeds if yours are stock and pipes what kind of power are you wanting? down low or middle or all top end screamer>>/ all these things you REALLY need to think about and then decide on what you want out of it.. used parts if bought right are a decent option also. its sometimes an easy way to try differnt stuff out and not pay an arm and a leg for thme.
