BigRed350x Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 anyone know if adding these filts over the smaller one will produce more power ? You probably won't notice any difference. Quote
BANSHEE HP Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 ive seen a hp or 2 difference between very small filters( the small 4in tapered ones for road bikes i think) to 6in or bigger non-tapered, but if your already have the 6in filters i wouldnt bother with the larger ones. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 probably wont notice any gain in performance, but you will be able to go longer between cleaning and oiling. Cody Quote
dajogejr Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I can tell you first hand...on my 10 mil cub, no. That being said, I run 300 foot. I can see where on a bigger motor or perhaps one on a longer run it might gain them a little time, if any...with more surface area to pull air in. I like them because they do last longer between cleanings, etc... I have a velcro strap and/or a zip tie around the subframe supporting the weight of them, sooner or later they will product an air leak at the intake with all that extra weight, IMO. Racing on sand/dirt/paddle tracks, I don't even use outerwears, I think you'll find a majority of the drag racers don't use outerwears. Quote
87sheerips Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 According to Rob @ RDZ there is no performance difference at all. So I run the short 4" or 6" angled filters. Quote

dajogejr Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Makes it easier to rotate the filter if you have to clear the frame, exhaust, etc. It makes them point parallel to the back of the bike instead of straight up in the air in conjunction with the angle of the carb. Quote
87sheerips Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Yep, the 6" angled filters are the best to run with inframe pipes. With OOF's I like the basic 4". Quote
