stroking Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Well i put the new TDR crank in to check things out and THIS crank is TRUE!! .001 or less BUT!! the center webs are two far apart,i have less than .003 clearance on the stator side! now i tried a different case with the same outcome, then i ttried a 4mill hotrod in the same case and had about .025-30 clearance well then i did some measuring between the to cranks and this is what i got...... pictured also im sending him the crank and the cases this time so he can clearly see what going on! Wicked ATV Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 i dont rember the factory spec but i do think its 1.85ish? Bummer this is like the 6th or 7th crank I've seen like this. They're coming from Taiwan to the states this way. I've had to fix several of them already. My opinion... is just take the crank back. ask him to re-press it for you. or.... maybe trade it for a hot rods. This is the type of stuff you get when you deal with over seas. also make sure you don't forget the inner bearing and labth seal O-rings i notice they are missing. Best of luck. Quote

Whats the price on your 10mil cranks ? Quote
Wicked ATV Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 this crank did not come with the o-rings on the bearing...all the bearings are 10ball bearing except the clutch side one...its a TZ Yes but you are missing the o-rings as they should be on the center seal and the bearings. Even thou they are all 10-ball bearings. the only one would be the TZ Roller Style bearing on the Drive PTO side that has a grove in it that don't use the o-rings. That is were you'd install the C-clip. We can build you a sweet 10mm Crank i have Cast wheels or Billet wheels on the shelf. I can build it within a day or 2. Just need to know the Rods and bearings you like for use to do it with. Price start from $375.00 to $1199.99. Give me a call and we can talk over the options and a price. Be easier for both of us. Best of luck. ok i was looking at a crank i got from viteo's and i see a groove where one o-ring could go but it's not there and i'm sure the second one that i got from them does have one either. so my ? is does it need to be there and what will happen if i don't have it? or are some made not to have one? bansheesrtoys Posted January 9, 2011 Report Posted January 9, 2011 Stay way from Vito's junk. Their cranks are garbage. wouldn't go that far to say they are garbage.look at the tdr crank it not even pressed togher right and i seen u-tube videos where hot-rod crank weren't even trued right, so with that being said i think it all depends on who put the crank togher in their shop, just because it says viteos on the box doesn't mean the same person built all of tehm and welded all of them.maybe i got lucky and had some how know what they are doing put mine togher. because i have nothing bad to say about viteos, plus they are nice over the phone and have no prob trying to help you. The O-ring is to keep the bearing and the center spacer from rotating. If they start rotating they will damage your cases and start to waer them. So it is a must to have them o-rings. Unless your Bearing come with pins like a factory crank but you still want to run the O-rings on the center spacer. Quote

I've had good luck with Vitos cranks. I have one in the shee now. Quote
dajogejr Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 I've got a Vitos' crank. The good...it was true and welded pretty good out of the box, I had a weld put all the way around the pin instead of just the left and right sides... The bad is that it doesn't use Orings, it uses the metal dowel pin...and I had one let go and get sucked up in the top of my motor. I'm going to use a loctite specifically made for bearing races, in a new set of cases for this year. It's a 10X better quality item than some of these other cranks I've been seeing for dirt cheap. It's priced better than a crank works and obviously way cheaper than a billet twister, but more money than a current cheapo Chinese. Two bad cranks in a row....you're having my kind of luck lately! locogato11283 Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 We had two Vito's cranks in a row fail. Fucking junk and I'll never buy another thing from them again. Quote
