BansheeMike350 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Hey what's up Banshee HQ. I am new to banshees and I need someone to explain cool heads and domes to me. I also would like to know which ones would be good. I know one of the sponsors makes them but there is also pro design and some others. And I want to run pump gas and from what I have read that would be 22cc domes? I appreciate any help a lot Thanks for your time. Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Hey bro, welcome to BansheeHQ. The cool heads are used to help cool the motors but mainly for adjusting compression. The dome size determines what compression will be. I have always used NOSS heads. David Noss is a site sponsor here on BansheeHQ and I am pretty sure you get a discount from him. Send him a PM here on BansheeHQ. His screen name is "dlnoss." Chariot Performance also has a nice head out. They are also a site sponsor and their screen name is "Chariot Performance." Quote

locogato11283 Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 Stock is 22cc. I would say you could run 20cc or 21cc and be OK, but I would talk to whoever you buy the head from to make sure for your elevation. Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 I believe stock is more around 23-24cc. As long as you keep your static compression below 155 you can run pump gas. If you have your timing advanced at all that number will drop. If you are at +4 timing I would shoot for 135-145psi. Your elevation will determine that dome size you need. Like loco said, 20-21cc will probably keep you around the pump gas range. - Jared Quote

By the way... has anyone ever heard of Top Knotch? when i bought my banshee it came with two of them in a box of parts on the side.my freind told me (the one i bought it from) that the fist one he got was machined wrong and the second one was good, i installed both of them and neither would hold coolant under pressure.i bought a cool head and problem solved. Well that isnt very comforting. Hopefully mine doesnt have that problem. The one i bought was new in the box with gaskets and 19cc domes. I only paid $130 for it so i figured why not not buy it.
