NOS_350x Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Well in my last 2 races ive lost about 3/4 a quart of oil during the race. Now this is a short period of time. Why is my tranny/clutch area pressurizing? any ideas?? I just changed my waterpump seal figuring it might be that even tho i wasnt loosing water. Quote
jbooker82 Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Crank seal? Are you over filling it? Quote
Zeroskill Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 If one of your vent hoses is plugged, it will puke oil out the other one. Quote
So Cal Suspension Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 If one of your vent hoses is plugged, it will puke oil out the other one. Nick, you're bike needs some colon blow... it's backed up! Quote
NOS_350x Posted June 10, 2010 Author Report Posted June 10, 2010 If it where a crank seal it would suck the oil, not blow out right????... Well at least thats my experiences. The vent hoses arnt clogged because if i do plug one it will spew out the other. If i plug them both it pressurizes, and when i take off the oil fill you can hear the release of pressure. Can we say Banshee Enema? Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted June 10, 2010 Report Posted June 10, 2010 Still sounds like you need to do a leak-down to me. Quote
MURDEREDOUT Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 Mine is doing the same thing... did you fix yours yet? Quote
wesw Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 u said you changed the waterpump seals but you might recheck them thats what happened to my buddies bike ride for like 10min and leaked out like a pig the seals were old and when the water pressuized it pushed oil out the vents Quote
NOS_350x Posted June 12, 2010 Author Report Posted June 12, 2010 Here is a little update, Hmm wait im going to go take some pics. be back in a minute Ok, back with a pic I tore apart (split cases) and found several things Im not sure what the problem was directly but upon teardown i think the crank seal was in backwards. I also had a bearing explode, the one right next to the crank seal on the tranny side. The cases are JACKED up where that bearing sits. The bearing spun in the cases. Im thinking that under a load the crank would move, side to side or up and down because of the bearing and that was causing the pressurizing of the tranny/clutch area. Im really not thinking the waterpump has any part, I have NEVER had any water in the oil. Quote
_Hex* Posted June 12, 2010 Report Posted June 12, 2010 (edited) looks like it just went out on u maybe just age or unbalanced Edited June 12, 2010 by _Hex* Quote

TeamRealtreeHD Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 (edited) Just fixed the buddy's bike today with the same problem. Seal in the impellar went (inc lutch cover) His was blowing tranny fluid out like you wouldn't believe. It's 1 of 3 things. Impellar seal (like his was), head gasket, or crank seal Good luck. Check all of the above Edited June 19, 2010 by TeamRealtreeHD Quote
