First off Welcome man.

First thing i would do is drain the coolant then flip the bike on its side (clutch facing up level) and pull the clutch cover off and check to see if the eccentric screw sheared off or if you bent your shift shaft, or maybe your shift star come loose or fell off and got jammed up.

Also check to see if the basket is still intact and not broken as well as the gears behind it, basically look at everything in there to see if anything is bent, broken, really worn out or fell off.

Worts case, it could be that you bent a shift fork or stripped some trans gears inside, you will need to split the cases to check. (not even a big deal though)

But check the first things at the top first, proly something really easy so have a look see and check back.

thanks for the response bro i will check that tomorrow might be a rookie question but how do I drain the atifreeze and what is a good antifreeze to put in the bike

Just undo the clamp on the lower rad line near the clutch cover. Have a bucket ready though

Just grab some prestone 50-/50 premixed stuff, its cheap to buy.

If you want to change your trans oil, its a good time to do that also.

But if you don't want too, flipping it on its side, all the trans fluid will go to the other side of the trans and you wont get it all over the place.

But its cheap for a couple bottles of trans fluid though.

Just don't over tighten the drain bolt when you tighten it up though  .

I always flip my bike on its side when im in the clutch side, MUCH easier on the back so you don't have to kneel on the ground or all hunched over and what not.

will the bike go into neutral? if not, you more than likely bent a shift fork and the cases will have to be split. i would drain the oil out of the cases and see if there are any parts. chances are if you bent a shift fork, there are some metal pieces that will run out when you drain the oil.

well if it turns out ya need a tranny or tranny parts i got a complete tranny, forks everything ill sell ya, pm me if ya need parts. hopefully it dont come down to it but ya never know. pull the clutch basket off and check the gears. mine once broke the shift adjuster screw and locked it in between some teeth

Grab an electric impact and take that clutch basket and gear off..

Take a rag and put it between the crank gear and the gear that is behind the clutch and turn counterclockwise to put the gears in a bind. This will make removing that large nut that holds the clutch basket on much easier.

Bend the tabs down on the lock washer holding the clutch basket nut on.

Grab an electric impact and a huge socket, im thinking it was 32mm. Remove clutch basket nut.

Take the rag off and the clutch basket should slide right off. Theres a large grooved bearing/sleeve behind it so don't drop it on the floor.

then you should be able to see your shift star. If it looks like this then you'll need a new screw and a bottle of blue locktite. I had the exact same thing happen and mine turned out to be the screw holding the shift star on had come loose, backed out and pushed the shift fork off of the shift star. Now is a great time to do the shift star and or fork mod btw

*Edit* One more note.. Your banshee transmission will NOT shift past second without the wheels turning! So if you find a problem, fix it and try to shift through the gears you'll need to spin the wheels or transmission to get it to move up past second.
