spurdy Posted October 28, 2010 Report Posted October 28, 2010 Spurdy you missed 3-4 shift in that video with an override ?? Yep. About 25% of the time it will not shift from 3rd to 4th. I don't know why. This is the first trip with the override since I got it back from Greg and it has brand new shift forks that I bought from you. Oh well. It's just a dune port motor with duning suspension. Not quite set up for the strip but it sure is fun. If I can hang with some of the drag bikes then I'd say I've accomplished something! SP Quote

( TOLD YA!!) i know all ABOUT cylinder studs breaking off. thats what was wrong with the 535 this last time. i have blown the cylinder nearly completely off the lower end 3 seperate times. i had to make my own grade 10 ( grade 8 american) hardened studs to hold the cylinder on it worked well so next time out i will try out a more agressive tire and load it more on the launch. then i'll throw ole newt on it and see what happens!! oh an yes its still the same ole pistons because i cant afford to buy some new ones with the other projects i have going. the ole 480 is a beast for sure. it suprises me every time out. dana265 Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 anyone can build a bike- not everyone can tune and make it run- I really enjoyed this weekend- havn't seen that many fast bikes racing in a long time- and being on the "old" drag strip- with everyone on the hill and down the sides watching was awesome- but the shit talking is funny- Quote
camatv Posted November 1, 2010 Report Posted November 1, 2010 yep it did remind me of the days back when there was more smoke than thunder and you had to actually TRY to ride cause the guy next to you was racing as hard/ fast as you were. was a great trip. saturday was one for the books as far as i'm concerned.. dana you should tell bubba he needs to build another "caddillac motor" he'll know what i'm talking about. just a good ole 4 mill stock cylinder and throw it in that chassis. i'd love to see him just out for a good time and forget its not about who's the best. ( plus them alky motors you can make more than 2 passes before its too HOT!) Quote
