My dad calls and talks to Dee Dee at Sprocket Specialists about a 38 and 39 aluminum rear sprocket. He asks her specifically if the chain will clear the hub. She said that she did not know and that she would call him back. My dad receives a call back from her stating that her son works for a Banshee builder and that they run them all the time with no issues. So my dad orders two of each in 530 aluminum at $293.52 total. We get the sprockets yesterday and find that neither sprocket will work because the chain will not clear the hub. OK, no big deal. I call Sprocket Specialists and talk to Dee Dee. I tell her the issue and she says that she "sells these sprockets all the time" and there's never an issue. I say, well they will not work on a stock Banshee hub. She says that the hub might have to be modified and that she isn't responsible for knowing that when she specifically told my dad that the chain would clear the hub. She tells me that I am out of luck because they are special order items and that she cannot issue a refund for them. I explain to her that this is not my fault and that I ordered $800 worth of usable sprockets earlier this year. She says that the company cannot budge on company policy. I then proceed to tell her that I own BansheeHQ.com and that I would let 20,000 Banshee riders know how they do business. All of a sudden she can offer a refund on the sprockets at a 30% restocking fee plus I have to pay for return shipping. So that's about $100. I ask her why they have a 30% restocking fee on items they "sell all the time." She then backtracks to say that she isn't sure when they will have an order for them. I said well that's not really acceptable but I will send them back anyway and still let many Banshee riders know about this. Bottom line is I have $300 worth of scrap aluminum sitting here that isn't doing me any good. I really expected them to take care of this issue considering she made a call and even called my dad back and told him they would clear with no issues. I have always used Sprocket Specialists but can honestly say that this is the last time I will be dealing with them. If this were Rocky Mountain ATV I would have been issued a refund immediately with no questions asked. Unfortunately, RMATV does not sell sprockets like that. I am not one to complain about things. I can't remember the last time I made a post about a bad seller or anything like that. But I thought that the way she handled the situation was not right. Before I said that I owned BansheeHQ I was getting nothing, because I was a "nobody" with no voice I suppose. That's straight up poor customer service and a terrible way to do things. After calling them one time and having them treat me like shit...I will never deal with them. I have a Honda sprocket hub exactly for the reason you are looking at Tyler. IN fact, since I posted this thread earlier today here and on ATVDR, I have been linked to and found myself several other quality looking custom sprocket makers. Funny how the economy works huh? Sprocket Specialists tells me to get fucked, yet they will be the ones who lose in the end. That dumb ass on the phone didn't know that I will be ordering two of each 34-39 within the next few weeks more than likely. By my calculations and what I've spent with them already this year, that's about $840. Unfortunately for them, I will be ordering them from one of the many other sprocket manufacturers. I am honestly clueless on the market. We have made customs in the past but will admit that we would not have time for customs right now. If we setup to do them, I would need to check the market. Doubt we can react fast enough to get you covered on this round. Are all yours Aluminum or what? I would not mind taking a look at things. B The ones that I have from Sprocket Specialists are all aluminum. I wanted steel but they did not offer them. There are plenty more sprocket makers out there and they will be getting my business. So you should be able to find cheap steel ones anywhere. Down into the lower 30s, i dont know. I have a honda hub but it currently has a 43 or 42 on it it think.
