Also on rider weight, style, all kinds of things.

 

I ran 13/42 and thought it was great, then switched back to 14/41 and it made a world of difference, a ton more pull on top.

Slightly lightened with 200 pound rider and 22inch paddles I ran 14/42

I havent played with my gearing a whole lot but im bout 220lbs with a +10 swinger 22/11/8/ 12 paddle haulers with 14/44 gearing, seems to come outta the hole hard unless its really really dry sand.

Also depends on how long and steep where your racing is....I race on on a very long very steep hill and I run a 14/44 : )
