Was it properly adjusted, both at the handlebars and at the pressure plate? Is the clutch ball welded to the pushrod? Was the pressure plate installed properly, you have to line up the arrows on the pressure plate and the clutch hub? Did you actually measure the plates and compare it to the spec in the manual? You do have a manual don't you? Are the springs weak? This oughta get you started.

If all of this stuff is okay your inner and/or outer pressure plates may be warped, it may not even appear damaged, mine did not. This happened to me i replaced with a new clutch with hd springs everything was lined up and still slipped really bad. I ordered the inner and outer plates from jeff at fast (inner $34 and outer $20) after I replaced them I had no more slip.

I have never seen a warped clutch steel cause slippage. Grab some calipers and measure your clutch plates. Verify that they are within tolerance. Check your clutch pull. Make sure you have something there. It can be out of adjustment on your clutch perch, or the adjustment in the motor can be off too.

Wasn't the first question I asked about the adjustment at the bars and at the pressure plate? And I don't think he meant the steels were warped, I think he meant the pressure plate and clutch hub themselves, where the friction plates ride.

I had the same problem on my shee. I found that I packed the ball with too mych grease and when I put everything together the pancake adjuster would barely move, but this can be a wear problem as well on yours. Take it apart and mock it all up then pull the clutch lever before you re-install the cover. Make sure the entire clutch pack moves out when you pull on the lever. You sure nothing welded up (like your stock adjuster if you still have it, or rod/;ball)?

Was I talking to you? I mean, did I specifically quote you and reiterate exactly what you said? Nope. But since you asked it first, I guess the rest of us can no longer give that sort of advice. :notworthy:

On my 4mil cub motor when i had it on the dyno the clutch would start slipping at about 80hp, i had a lockup clutch on it, clutches and steels were new, turned out to be a worn pressure plate.

Dont overlook the small shit! I let my girl ride my shee the other day and when i got back on it,the clutch was slippin..after chewin her ass for thinkin she was ridin the clutch,i thought she either burned my plates or welded the ball to the rod...it turns out the damn needle bearing on the clutch arm took a shit! Simple fix..after thinkin the worst,it turned out easy.
