themuffinman Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 I'm in the process of rebuilding my bike and the motor now has .50 wiesco pistons, k&n filter, fmf pipes and I'm thinking a cool head is next. Does anyone recommend any particular brand and what do you guys suggest size domes i get? My second question is about my pipes. The headers on my bike look like sh*t and I'm wondering what's the best way to restore them? I'm looking for something cheap I can pull off in the garage and not have to take out a loan to get something powder coated. My buddy has a sandblaster if you guys think that'd be a good idea. Let me know what you guys thank, thanks. Quote

How are they holding up?? honestly i havent even rode them yet , and ya when i got them they were rusted as F**K so i just sand blasted them and painted them but i wanted something different and the t5 sticks out real nice too lol Quote
jbooker82 Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 A cool head is a nice addition, but since you have the engine tore appart I would have had the cylinders ported. There is no better time, and it is the next biggest HP just as much as going from stock pipes to aftermarket, maybe more. It is a way larger gain than uppping the compression. josh Quote
alf44 Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 If you want a coolhead this is the best deal around. It ends on sunday though. If you want one and you need a week I will honor the price. Just let me know. thanks. Quote

themuffinman Posted January 31, 2010 Author Report Posted January 31, 2010 What size dome would be right for my motor? Quote
brian Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 I would go with the Noss Coolhead. You can use your stock head studs with it. Call Noss (they are a site sponsor here) and discuss dome size with them. Contact: 918-358-3804 You will have to think about what kind of gas you want to run before deciding on a dome size. They will be able to help you figure out what size will work best for you. Quote

(just a ballpark figure) I am taking mine down this weekend to get ported and polished. They are doing the dune port, timing plate, an getting rid of the tors, all for 500 + tax. But trust me it is worth it!!! Quote
