make sure your slides are in correct. make sure the lil black hose is in between both carbs.. make sure u didnt mix both bowls 1 has a choke jet the other doesnt... 1.1/4- 2 turns out on ur air mix screws... try cleaning out ur pilot also.. with a wire or aireliminate ur tors also.. i did all of this after my rebuild.. runs sweet now..

i put all new jets in carbs , have air screw at 2 turns out i rebuilt 1 carb at a time so they cant be mixed up checked my slides last night now i did notice left side leaking fuel out of over flow so will check that out. now how do you eliminate the tors?

depends on what you mean "get rid of them", you can unplug the tors box which is located on the upper left side on the frame by gas tank, and still have all the shit on your carbs not to mention the wiring, Or get rid of it all together. Tors eliminator kit,and new throttle cable,a little time and no more headaches.

i guess what im asking is , what is its purpose (tors) and what will i benefit from deleting it . could this be my prob or do you think it might be a air leak? i put on new reeds and did not use any sealant . according to clymer i didnt need it . i just put a gasket . the thing i dont understand is why it ran at first and then stopped . also what would unpacked silencers or how would they affect proformance?

the purpose of the tors is all safety, if the throttle cable gets stuck or dirt in carb slides holding the carb or cable in the open throttle postion and you back off the throttle the tors will kick in and shut off the ignition system. You might want to check your parking brake and clutch adjustment perch make sure their tight "common problem with tors" also like i said in the other post you can unplug the box.little black box on the upper leftside of frame. But most people on here will agree just get rid of them. you will benefit by not having this type of problem any more.as far as your exhaust on packing will make them louder with no gains.

well that tells me a lot i did not know that and that is probably my problem (tors) but i will be thorough and go through carbs again so all i have to do is unplug black box?

TORS = Throttle Over Ride System

I just unplugged mine and removed everything for the emergency brake. No problems for 5 years. As a matter of fact, I still have the wires hanging off the top of the carbs. I just wire tied them out of the way. I will probably get the tors ellimination some day if they start becamoing a PITA but for now..if it aint broke don't fix it is the way for me. I know guys that their banshee was screaming and running great when all of a sudden, it only idles and won't rev. Come to find out the emergency brake switch was keeping it from running right. I don't know why Yamaha puts that TORS on everything they build. It is always the first thing removed. It must have something to do with liability or something. I have had snow mobiles with it the banshee had it my buddies kid has a blaster that had it....a blaster !!!!!!!!!!
