I didnt say they were junk carbs, there not but the paticular ones that I have suck.I'm having problems getting my idle set how I want it, The idle/choke knob doesnt change anything, I have to set my slides up higher than I wanted to. Actually when I turn one of the knobs it feels kind of rough so Ill take them apart today and check it out. Another thing that has me worried now is last night I cut my new fuel lines and installed the clear inline fuel filters like the ones Jeff sells and noticed that It somehow runs the lines between the carbs and filters and the filters dry but the fuel is there in the lines between the filters and the tank? its screwed up.

yes, the old pj 's idle like crap threads..

my 34mm pj's were a pain ... like u said, i had to set my idle alittle higher. also check and make sure your slides are insync. adjust air/fuel screw also .. that should help with idle.

pm wesw..... the man knows his pj carbs

The PJ is probly the most common carb on a banshee and used on record bikes and u called it retarded haha now thats funny.

Most common hu? I would think the PWK was much more common. Maybe back in the 80's the PJ was more common.

And used on record bikes? You sure that they arn't using either Lectrons or huge PWK's?

PJ's suck because they do not respond to changes as well as PWK's. I had a set of PJ's and had to turn the screws to where they would damn near fall out just to run them. Useing exact same jetting on PWK's and it idled and ran like a champ.

I'm not a huge fan of my pj either. It runs great once it's jetted in, but I can't get lean enough pilot to keep it from loading up and fouling plugs when i'm out riding with buggies/trucks and I have to do a lot of putting. But I paid a case of beer for it so I can't complain .

I have 2 R6 throttle bodies on the shelf that'll fix that problem though :D.
