assemble cylinders and pistons what oil or lube to use

i want to know what do use when you install your pistons into the cylinder do you use just oil or do you use like the bel ray assembly lube or what need help.

I like assembly lube, however I've used 2 stroke oil and moly grease. Moly grease smokes like a bitch but I didn't have anytnhing else at the time. Motor held just fine for the 3 years I ran it.

I would use 2 stroke oil. Grease or assembly lube will burn and carbon up. Even on full size engines, builders use engine oil to lube the cylinders and pistons, they use assembly lube on the bearings, crank, cam, lifters, rockers ect. They use it were oil will take it away after the engine is started. With a 2 stroke there is no pressureized oil system that will take the assembly lube away.

I let all my parts sit in oil for about a day or two... Then start putting things together. Might make a little mess of things but then I know all things are coated and starting to work into the metal.

Just use whatever you use to mix with your gas.

pistons and cylinders i coat in ATF. Helps seat rings faster. bottom end i use generous amounts of 2 stroke oil, whatever i might be mixing at the time

I do the exact same thing a do when i build car motors.. WD40 it lubes and is flamable so burns off super quick try it youll thanks me later
