MRMOONEY Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 I got this banshee about a month ago I put FMF fattys on it jetted it, pods, everything else is stock. Sometimes its happened 3 times now when i start it the motor starts in reverse and when you let the clutch out and put it in gear it will acutally move backwards wtf. What can caues this is this a timing issue i pulled the stator cover off and its all stock meaning no adjustable timing plate etc.. please help and thanks in advance Quote

98_shee Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Pull your stator cover and make sure there isn't a timing plate. If their is it may have came loose and retarded your timing. If thats not it it may be your cdi. Quote

370banshee Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 check the fylwheel key.. it may be sheared and the flywheel as tweaked just enought to throw your timing off to make it fire backwards... it happens on blasters all the time.. it's possible a banshee could do the same thing Quote

I am going to order a fylwheel pulley and revmove the flywheel ill check the key. I have another bike ill try swapping the CDI's out Quote
MDalton Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Seen this happen on a diesel that pop started itself. The block cracked because the water pump does not work in reverse on a detroit diesel so I would watch out. Quote
