Powerplant Posted September 27, 2009 Author Report Posted September 27, 2009 I know some of you were looking for pics. Here are a couple when I brought it home and 2 after I did a yfz arm swap. I welded in my own upper mounts to accommodate the A-arms. Hopefully these pics work. Quote
Powerplant Posted September 27, 2009 Author Report Posted September 27, 2009 Whoa... that didn't work so good... I've been dinking around for 20 minutes trying to get the pics the right size... I give up. Quote

Powerplant Posted September 29, 2009 Author Report Posted September 29, 2009 pics worked but i like it allot nice how u did the conversion. i would of baught it for 1800 Thanks.... I just looked at a couple of pics of A-arm bikes, bent up some tubing, bent some flat stock and welded her up. Free is sure better than spending $$$ on a new frame. After I sold my oem parts I don't have much into the new front end... now I need to find some time to ride. Quote
baker Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 (edited) Quoted from craigslist.......(I removed some of the obvious stuff) REDUCED FROM $2300 TO $2000 1988 Yamaha Banshee. Has a fresh rebuild with approximately 55 hours on it. Always starts with in the first or second kick. This quad was mainly used for trail ridding never raced. I just put new rear tires on they are 20X10 Dunlops. The rims on the rear are also new they are ITP rims 9 inch. I also replaced the front lower A-Arms and ball joints. This quad has tons of after market parts which include full exhaust system fmf pipes Gold series and the power core 2 silencers, also has a trinity stage 4 two into one carb, the quad has new plastics to with an after market bolt kit, and the motor has hot rod cranks from the fresh rebuild. There is also a after market chrome front bumper, and after market renthal handle bars, K&N filter and more. I always kept my wheeler up to maintenance by changing fluids and keeping plugs up to date so its been well maintained. The reason its for sale is I just don't ride it enough to keep it, and I'm to busy with work to make time for it. So in all this machine is very very fast and extremely clean! SOLD AS IS I rode it last night... seams fast but it runs out of gear quickly... the guy said it had a different sprocket on the rear. Front brake is almost non existant, rear swinger has a crack in the cross bracing that was poorly welded (I'm a welder and can fix properly). Other than that I didn't see much wrong despite the fact that it has J arms. I have him down to $1800 and I feel that is as low as he will go. Comments welcome.... i wouldnt buy it i just bought a 99 shee for 1100 of course it blew up three days later but 275 bucks later i got a set of ported cyl,and vitos pistons off ebay= total cost1375 Edited December 22, 2009 by baker Quote

Velislide Posted December 22, 2009 Report Posted December 22, 2009 (edited) You live in Minnesota you say? International Falls here, bought my first banshee during the fall lol, it was a mess, rolling frame, engine with the topened blown and a box full of rusty parts. I've spent a lot of time buying parts and putting it back together, spent about 1500$ on Ebay just ordering aftermarket oem replacements, and the like. Banshee cost me 500$, its an 87. When Im done putting it together, it will be race ported, vforce 3s, K&N intake, FMF Fatty exhaust w/ Powercore II's, all new controls with a Vapor computer, newer banshee suspension, new skid plates, etc. Have all the parts, engines together and mounted in the chassis now, just slowly finishing it. Where you live in Minnesota? And what would I have to do, to get you to help me do one of those front A-Arm conversions? My J-arms are a little bent, but I cant afford to do much with that, lol living paycheck to paycheck! Edited December 22, 2009 by Velislide Quote
