Building my First Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 My boys and I do the same thing, just for shits and giggles. but sometime we have to prove something. Lol no waht I mean. We built a track out in the edge of town in a river bed, it's pretty cool only thing that sucks is we have to maintain it. A buddy of mine is in the 300 pound area but doesn't stop him from letting shit ripe. Here is my youtube video, check it out. Thats a good video, I'm 255 and I love seeing a big guy kick everyones ass. Are they racing 300', it doesn't look very long. I will say it's going to be a close race, the Banshee better not overrev or miss any shifts or she's goin' to get poked. Quote
slopoke Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Graphs are like infomercials, they can claim whatever and sell alot to people who don't have a clue. I agree with daj. The ds outpowers the shee. I am certain as I have seen with my own eyes that a stock banshee only puts out around 35 hp. I don't think his mods are close to 50. That 2 in 2 1 is killing it. You want torque at the bottom. This is apparently a waste of time arguing with the guy who believes this graph. I love my banshee but facts are facts. The ds with the same rider skills has better power control and will win. PERIOD I tell ya what graph guy. I have one of the crappy 05 trx450's only with a hrc kit. maybe 45hp if the wind is right. It will not get outran with a mild banshee. Quote
BlasterKX Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 well all in all id run the ds with my wifes bike.lmao just for shits and giggles to see if im a decent rider or if im lucky and smoke his ass. lol Quote

See if I get some video of my other boys there pushing 300 and some, guess what there runnig slow ass DS. Hahaha Hopefully I'll help settle this bullshit and video it. And I know, we'll still have some non believers. Quote
Bansheeb0y5505 Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 I'm done arguing. I know dynojets always read high, but I still bet it's around 44-45 like I have been saying THIS WHOLE THREAD. All I can say is none of you are true banshee owners. A bolt-on banshee will beat a piped DS650. Put a rider who isn't a fucking pussy on the banshee and somewhere where it will hook up, and the banshee will beat it. Not by a whole lot, but it will. I don't care what anyone says. DS's are quick but are not banshee territory. The only 4-strokes that will compete with a banshee are the modern day 450's and raptor 700's. Maybe if you bumped up the compression on the DS, shed some pounds off it, THEN pipe it, it would be a different story. As far as the guy who started this thread, im sorry bro but you probably will get beat. You're shee is set up for all bottom and mid. Banshee's work best when they're screaming and set up for mid-top. Quote
Bansheeb0y5505 Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Oh and slopoke, where are you located? I would love to have a friendly race against your TRX the next time I go riding. Quote

I just wondered if i was gonna bea able to beat him. Didn't mean to start a flame war lol Quote
dajogejr Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 It's all good. Remember, this is Banshee HQ...so naturally many are very head strong about them. Sometimes overly so... No worries... Quote
Bansheeb0y5505 Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 I'm not headstrong, I just speak the truth. I've ridden so many 4-strokes in my life, and none of them have the same thrill as a healthy 2-stroke. They've come so far, but they're at their peak. There's only so much they can do to the 4-stroke. What's next? They already have titanium valves, light-weight crankshafts, liquid cooling, double overhead cams with high compression, fuel injection, etc. And still just now they got up to par with banshee's, needing that extra 100cc. The only thing left to do it raise the displacement, really. Go race em dude, have fun. You never know. Even if you get beat it's all in good fun. At that point you go get a trail/mx port and don't tell him. Quote
dajogejr Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 Thrill vs. speed are two different things. Two strokes feel faster because of the nature of how they hit. Singles with powervalves aren't as "pipey" as a small piston twin... I don't like the way 4 strokes run...but they're fast. I promise they are not at their peak. They've only had serious development dollars thrown their way in the past decade or so. If two strokes are the end all/be all...why aren't top fuel cars 2 stroke? Why don't you see any NHRA or IRA cars with a two stroke. For the thousands and millions they spend on development...surely they can build a better two stroke? Why does everybody ride a 4 stroke in AMA competition. The big 5 (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawaski and KTM) have millions of R&D at their disposal. They make closed course bikes. If the two stroke had the advantage...they'd still be running them. You can argue cc vs. cc all day...but then add in the weight factor and the tables level a little more. By no means am I saying two strokes are at their peak either.... Quote

Drag racing my banshee every weekend is not enough to make me a true banshee owner. I'm not headstrong, I just speak the truth. You have no knowladge about engine. If you think that the 4 stroke technology is at its max. Look at a ds650cc or raptor 700cc they are 50cc to 100cc more then a r6, 600cc in case you didn't know, and the r6 will smoke any quad out there. Why is that? Tell me if you think you can. Another thing fuel injected atv haven't been around that long, so it will take time before some of these carb loving bike builders try and mess around with a fuel injection setup. Maybe you should get off your banshee and stay in school. Lol, just fucking with you don't want you to get all sad. Quote
