LIM_Whiteboy4life Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 (edited) Ive ran a dyna on my bike since 07 and thats when it was just piped, now im ported. Its a good buy, hasnt done me wrong yet. Just keep an eye on the controller... mine fed itself to the rear sprocket one time. I might hit you up on the timing curves snop. I run mine on curve 3 at all times. Edited August 7, 2009 by LIM_Whiteboy4life Quote
3SGTE Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 That is correct. A plate is a static advance across the RPMs. The CDI, stock or otherwise, controls the curve. Realistically, you want more timing in the mid and bottom...and less up top for more overrev and peak RPMs. When I had my Dyna, I used all the curves AND 8 on my plate.... my dyna his on curve 3 (more advanced of 3)... can I put my adjustable timing plate at +4 too.... Snopczynski Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 You can run +4 with curve 3, but its already advanced about 4 degrees over stock at max rpm. I would work my way up 1 degree at a time. I do reprograms, I dont sell the cable and hardware. I actually had to buy another cable from radioshack to hook to my computer's usb port. Quote
swepzz Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 no port work done yet..been toying with the idea..in a lil bit here im thinking about getting new ported cylinders from hjr. just trying to take care of whatever else i can before hand.. Quote
dajogejr Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 IMO, you're wasting your money on a Dyna before porting on your motor. A proper ignition curve setup might give you 5 to 10% increase....and that's a stretch. Porting can easily double the power output of your motor. Easily. Quote
